Lichfield Falconry and Hawking Centre was set up in 2013 by Josh Rees thanks to funding provided entirely by NBC Bird & Pest Solutions Ltd. NBC are a national wildlife management company and the franchise for the Midlands is run by Josh’s dad, Graham.
Throughout their many years experience in dealing with birds that were coming into conflict with humans, NBC have persistently been asked to take their birds of prey along to open days, schools, scouts and other groups.
Josh would attend these meetings to help and answer the many questions that would be asked about these amazing animals. He would explain how they can help us manage other wildlife in our midst, just by taking advantage of what goes on in nature.
Birds of prey have been Josh's passion since he was 9 yrs old, so when he left school he decided that giving people the opportunity to come into contact with these birds and help educate them on the birds should become his livelihood. He presented NBC with his plan and the rest as they say is history.
